3D and 4D technology is boosting with the rapid arrival of better technologies. The hottest arrival is the 3D technology that promises 100 times better resolution and visibility of the metallic and shiny surfaces.

The global market for 3D & 4D Technology was estimated to be USD 88356 billion in 2016 and is expected to reach a value of USD 173721 billion by the end of 2022, growing at a CAGR of 11.93% during the forecast period.

A group of computer graphics scientists at University of California-San Diego have developed an algorithm to improve the way a computer graphics software interprets the mode of interaction of light with enormously tiny particles, called glints, on the surface of metallic materials, including metallic car paints, metal finishes and injection-molded plastic finishes.

This method is developed by Ramamoorthi and colleagues, which is 100 times faster than the current method. They are supposed to present their work this month at SIGGRAPH 2016 in Anaheim, California. With the use of minimal computational resources this method can also be used in animations.

3D and 4D technology is transforming the world of games and animation industry.
